Application Process
There is a 2-stage application process with initial video submission of set excerpts by October 15th and live auditions at Camden School for Girls on November 6th.
a) By October 15th please send through a CV and a covering letter highlighting relevant orchestral and organisational experience, together with a video clip of the following excerpts to ersoinfo@gmail.com
Violin
Don Giovanni overture bars 23-62
Bruckner 9 Trio of scherzo, beginning to bar 137
Trumpet
Mahler 5 figure 13
Petrushka from figure 135
Tenor Trombone
William Tell figures C-E
Mozart Requiem, Tuba Mirum
Bass trombone
William Tell figure C-E
1812 overture figure B-C
The recording should be a single video clip, recorded in one take. A video recording on a smart phone or similar device is great – we understand that there might be some limitations on sound quality and the panel will take this into consideration.
b) This video will then be converted to an audio file, which the panel will listen to in order to replicate a screened audition.
c) Suitable candidates will be invited to an in person audition and interview with the orchestra management, Chris Stark and John Crawford on Sunday November 6th at Camden School for Girls.
Shortlisted candidates will be asked to play 2 contrasting pieces of your choice (strings please include a major classical concerto) in addition to sight reading and this will be followed by a short interview.
If travelling to an audition is problematic, then we may offer an online interview with audition pieces having been recorded in advance.
