Finan Jones is the junior conducting fellow at the Guildhall School. He attended the London Oratory School, where he was a chorister, before gaining a scholarship to study bassoon at the Guildhall School. He now studies with Tim Redmond, Dominic Wheeler and David Corkhill.
Finan’s particular interest is bringing orchestral music to new audiences, previously taking productions of Peter and the Wolf into inner city schools, large scale orchestral projects for secondary school children and future plans to bring live contemporary music into the classroom.
The conducting fellowship at the Guildhall has presented Finan with many new opportunities both within the institution and outside it. He has gained experience on opera productions, assisting on orchestral concerts, working as an offstage conductor and professional recording session conducting.
