Callie Brennan

ERSO were proud to have Callie as our first winner of the ERSO Soloist of the Year and were delighted to  be part of her wonderful performance of Walton’s Violin concerto under the baton of Conductor Emeritus Peter Stark in February 2018.

Callie hails from the sunny state of Maine, which is where she first held a violin at the tender age of four. Years later she moved to Colorado to pursue a Bachelor’s degree, studying with Lina Bahn and Harumi Rhodes, as well as Ole Bohn for several months while abroad in Australia. This travel spurred her to look abroad for Postgraduate study; specifically, The Guildhall School of Music and Drama. In 2016 Callie and her husband moved to London with the hopes of endless performance opportunities, and lots of tea.

During her studies at Guildhall Callie has had the pleasure of performing on The Barbican Stage and in Royal Festival Hall. She has performed under the baton of Sir Simon Rattle, playing alongside the London Symphony Orchestra and also the Australian Chamber Orchestra. In July 2017 Callie traveled with her quartet to Spain, where they performed in The Fringe Festival in Torroella, and she is also a member of The Orchid Trio, that was recently awarded the St. James Chamber Music prize. Callie currently studies with Stephanie Gonley and Ofer Falk, and when she isn’t running to rehearsals or practising, she is most likely rock climbing or eating chocolate.
