Our final concert includes the Schumann Cello concerto with Henry Hargreaves (winner of the 2019 ERSO Soloist of the Year competition) and Mahler’s epic 1st Symphony.
Concert tickets are £12 for adults and £5 for students and children, available on the door and in advance from the Waterloo Festival
Our free talk ERSO Unpacked – Exploring Mahler’s 1st Symphony on Sunday 9th June, we will show why this piece was such a landmark in transforming what we think of as a symphony, with musical examples played by the orchestra and commentary from our conductor. It will be open to all-comers and ages and should be a lovely hour of music on its own, or as an appetiser for our concert the following week
ERSO is delighted to that this concert is a part of the Waterloo Festival, an annual summer festival of arts and inspiration, held in and around St John’s Waterloo. It celebrates arts, music, ideas and new talent in a beautiful setting in the beating artistic heart of London.
