If you are a grade 8+ player in or around London who is interested in gaining excellent orchestral experience and performing exciting repertoire with a really friendly orchestra (and eating lots of cake!) please contact us on ersoinfo@gmail.com. 

We are always especially keen to hear from string players across all sections.  We also love to hear from other players, especially brass, as we often have the need for extra players or deps.

We’re a friendly group (with a lot of good cake) playing to a very high standard under the baton of Christopher Stark, best known as co-founder and Principal Conductor of RPS Award-winning Multi-Story Orchestra and for his work in opera.  We have a professional leader, John Crawford (a Professor at Trinity Laban), and young professional players leading the string sections. ERSO has a long history of working with children and of providing opportunities for young professional musicians.

We always perform and rehearse on Sundays.  Rehearsals are at Camden School for Girls which is easily accessible on public transport and there is parking on the street outside. 

We have some great events coming up.  Taking part in a concert means you are eligible to enter our 2024 Soloist of the Year competition and win the chance to be our summer soloist: ERSO Soloist of the Year
