ERSO is delighted to that our 2018/19 season finale will be part of the Waterloo Festival, an annual summer festival of arts and inspiration, held in and around St John’s Waterloo. It celebrates arts, music, ideas and new talent in a beautiful setting in the beating artistic heart of London.
Our concert programme will include a concerto to be played by the ERSO Soloist of the Year and Mahler’s epic 1st Symphony. The winner of the Soloist of the Year competition will be announced on May 13th.
In our free talk “Mahler 1 – Transforming the Symphony” at 2pm on Sunday 9th June, we will show why this piece was such a landmark in transforming what we think of as a symphony, with musical examples played by the orchestra and commentary from our conductor. It will be open to all -comers and ages and should be a lovely hour of music on its own, or as an appetiser for our concert the following week
Concert tickets are £12 for adults and £5 for students and children, available on the door and from the Waterloo Festival website: waterloofestival.com
Join us at the beautiful church of St John’s Waterloo for an evening of wonderful music.
